I have been talking to some riders and frame builders since I posted my original thoughts on this bike. People who have been riding since before I was born would happily tell me that the S.T.A.R. bike is not new, but a modern take on the bikes that they had to ride.
In many ways they are completely right, and talking to these people helped raise my awareness of the vast cycling history that surrounds us all over the globe.
Duell Passion
It would be foolish to think that Europe has the only foot hold on the genre. In fact in would be downright rude to not include the Americas (and I do mean the whole Continent) and places like Japan which have such a wealth of frame building talent. But don't get me wrong, I will never forget cyclings' hinterland when it comes to frame production.

I fired the question to some frame builders, and for those who were kind enough to reply (I appreciate how busy these fabricators are) I will post their email or telephone conversations with me.

I really like this bike. Completely functional and I am sure a joy to ride over the long distances covered in the Raid Pyrenean. Check out those beautiful hand made fenders. It is a shame that Mike is no longer building bikes, as I would add my name to the list.
