On Sunday 24th of August it was Roger De Vlaeminck's birthday, he was 61. One of the greatest films on cyclesport happens to capture Roger (and many others) at various points in their careers. Unfortunately De Vlaeminck did not win that day as he had done the year before (and the year after in 1977) but in would be Marc Demeyer who would hold aloft the prized trophy of the cobblestone.
